Meet the 2022 Chevy Blazer
The new 2022 Chevy Blazer is here. While many of the features that Blazer owners love are staying, it is getting a few updates for the new year. Here are some of the features we are most excited about.
The Blazer is a midsize crossover SUV that has been available since 2019. Taking design cues from the Chevy Camaro, the Blazer is a sporty and muscular SUV that is loved by families and adventurers alike. Its stable cornering and exceptional handling make it a standout choice in its class.
New for 2022
A Better Engine Comes Standard
The 2022 model now comes with a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine standard, doing away with the 2.5L engine that was previously equipped on lower-trim models. Chevy has also squeezed out even more gas mileage for the 2022 Blazer at 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. That means you can go even farther on the 19.4-gallon fuel tank.
A New Look
Chevy has released two new paint colors for the 2022 Blazer. Blue glow is a deep sapphire blue metallic that is available on all trim levels except the RS. Nitro yellow is a bright, eye-catching yellow, giving the new Blazer an extra sporty look on the RS trim. Buyers can also choose to have a contrasting roof color on certain trim levels.
Chevy always includes some of the best new technology features on their cars, and the 2022 Blazer is no exception. Its infotainment center consists of an 8-inch touchscreen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Satellite radio and a Wi-Fi hotspot come standard, although there may be additional fees to activate these services.
Safety
The new Blazer comes packed with some of the latest safety features. Chevy Safety Assist comes standard and includes a following distance indicator, forward collision alert, and automatic emergency braking. A rear vision camera also comes standard to make parking a breeze. OnStar is included with the purchase of a new Chevy for up to 3 months.
Towing
The 2022 model now offers a towing package across all trim models. The towing package is standard on all-wheel-drive models and optional on front-wheel-drive models. For the most towing capacity, drivers will want the 3.6L V6 engine. This will safely tow up to 4,500 pounds. The smaller 2.0L engine will tow 1,500 pounds.
The new 2022 Blazer still has all the features that make it one of the best midsize crossovers available and a few new features that make it even better. Its impressive styling hasn’t changed, but there are a few new paint options to choose from.
